We are excited to be partnering with Lifesong for Orphans in bringing a new coffee to our origin lineup!  This Ugandan coffee is sourced from 400 farmers in the mountain community of Bududa (Mt. Elgon region).  Lifesong is helping bring together education and community initiatives to this underprivileged area by growing the market for this excellent specialty grade coffee.  They assist in several areas of the value chain including processing, paying above market price, and exporting services.  They also give back 100% of profits sold to roasters in the US!  You can learn more about their story at Lifesong for Orphans.

Uganda has excellent potential for high scoring arabica coffee.  Over the past several years, producers have been working hard to make Ugandan coffee a part of the specialty coffee conversation.  When we first cupped this coffee, it was apparent we had to bring it on board.  With notes of citrus fruit, brown sugar, and chocolate, we are looking forward to offering this to our wholesale and retail customers.

This high scoring specialty grade Uganda AA single origin washed coffee  is grown at 4200 ft. in rich volcanic soil, which adds to its complexity in the cup.  We look forward to sharing this jewel from the East African country of Uganda, not only for the taste experience, but most importantly for the benefit of the farmers and community who work so hard to produce the coffee.
